Members of the firm engage in a wide variety of civic and professional activities.

Vincent J. Apruzzese - Firm founder Vincent J. Apruzzese has served as Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association and as a member of its Board of Governors.  He has also served as an officer of the International Labor Law Society.  He is past Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation and a Past President of the Association.  Mr. Apruzzese is a former Chair and current member of the Board of Governors of the Paper Mill Playhouse, and Vice Chairman of St. Barnabas Medical Corporation, the largest health provider in New Jersey.  He is also a member of the Martindale Lexis-Nexis Advisory Board.

Frank X. McDermott - Frank McDermott is a former State Senator, and presently is Chairman of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.

Francis A. Mastro - Principal Francis A. Mastro is a Past Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.  He is an active member of the Developing Labor Law Committee of the American Bar Association.  Mr. Mastro is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Ballet Company.

James L. Plosia, Jr. – Mr. Plosia is the past President of Literacy Volunteers of America-NJ, Inc. and also works with several community and charitable organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and Irish-American groups.  He is a member of the Fairleigh Dickinson University adjunct faculty.

Lisa Barré-Quick – Ms. Barré-Quick is the author of The Road Less Traveled:  Obstacles In The Path Of The Effective Use Of The Civil Rights Provision Of The Violence Against Women Act In The Employment Context, which was published in the Spring 1998 volume of the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal; and “Reasonable” Isn’t Necessarily “Right” – And It Doesn’t Necessarily Have To Be: What Constitutes A Reasonable Belief Under CEPA? which was published in the Fall 1998 edition of the New Jersey Labor & Employment Law Quarterly; The Replacement of the Replacement Standard: The New Approach To The Prima Facie Case of Discrimination Under Title VII And The New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, which was published in the Winter 2000 Edition of the New Jersey Law & Employment Law Quarterly, and The Open Public Records Act: Employee Records and Related Human Resources Issues which was published in the Winter 2002 edition of the New Jersey Labor & Employment Law Quarterly.

The firm encourages its principals and associates to participate in the pro bono activities of the New Jersey State Bar Association, including the representation of indigent defendants.  Additionally, principals and associates of the firm hold leadership positions in other charitable and religious organizations.
