Personal Narrative/Bio:

Rick Danser has spent 38 years in the practice of law. He devotes most of his time to the representation of employers in various private sector industries as well as all levels of public sector government. During his extended career, Mr. Danser has had primary responsibility for negotiating labor contracts and providing legal advice on a myriad of labor issues to companies in many industries including chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, warehouse and distribution operations and the automotive industry. He has also provided legal representation and counseling in NLRB matters involving unfair practice charges and representation elections as well as litigation to obtain injunctive relief and damages in cases of strikes and picketing.
In addition to his significant private sector experience, Mr. Danser also works extensively in the public sector where he has represented New Jersey Transit and various county governments in connection with the negotiation of their labor contracts and in providing legal advice on labor and employment law issuers. A significant portion of his time is focused on the many municipalities he represents throughout the State where he provides representation and counseling in all aspects of labor relations including matters before the Public Employment Relations Commission, grievance handling and grievance arbitration; negotiations and interest arbitration for police and fire contracts, and negotiations, including mediation and fact finding for blue and white collar employee contracts.

Mr. Danser also served as labor counsel to the New Jersey State Judiciary in connection with the negotiations of the first statewide labor contracts for approximately 7,500 employees following passage of the State Judicial Unification Act. These negotiations involved resolution of many challenging labor issues including consolidation of several hundred titles and the establishment of uniform statewide compensation plans.

Prior to beginning the practice of law, Mr. Danser attended Wake Forest University and following graduation in 1968 he began his service in the U.S. Navy JAG. His undergraduate years were spent at Gettysburg College where he was fraternity president and played on the freshman football, basketball and baseball teams.

Mr. Danser is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association as well as the Labor Law Section of the American Bar Association and he has spoken frequently on topical labor and employment law issues.
