| FRANCIS A. MASTRO (1929 - 2008) Francis A. Mastro was the quintessential lawyer. A consummate gentlemen, tenacious advocate and inexhaustible student of the law, Frank had been selected among the Best Lawyers in America and was listed in the Bar Registry of Pre-minent Lawyers. Even after moving to of counsel status with the firm that bears his name, Frank remained vigorously involved in the defense of labor and employment matters. A product of Jesuit education, Frank Mastro was a graduate of Saint Peter’s College and Georgetown University School of Law. Before entering private practice with Apruzzese, McDermott, Mastro & Murphy in 1969, Frank was a supervising attorney and litigation specialist with the National Labor Relations Board in its Newark regional office and later served as in-house labor counsel to Ingersoll Rand Co. A recognized leader in the field of labor and employment law, Frank Mastro previously served as Chairman of the Labor and Employment section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and was a member of the American Bar Association Developing Labor Law Committee. He also was a member of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey and the Somerset County Bar Association and was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Military Appeals and the courts of the State of New Jersey and the District of Columbia. Frank proudly served as a member of the Reserve Officers’ Association, holding the rank of Colonel in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. A man of refinement, great humor and team loyalty, Frank Mastro was Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Ballet Company and an indefatigable fan of the Giants, Mets and Georgetown Hoyas. However, the most precious treasure of his life was, without question, his lovely wife, Joan. |
